Chilton Congreve : Worthing Arena

Chilton Congreve Limited invited HFM to develop their idea for a multi-purpose leisure facility at the existing Aquarena site, on the sea front in Worthing, Sussex. The main feature of the complex is a 1400 seat international sized ice-rink that can be converted into a multi-purpose arena for concerts, conferences, exhibitions and theatre. A restaurant overlooking the seafront, cafes and community activities will support the sports and leisure facilities making it a year round destination for the south-coast of England.

The arena complex also includes a new 50-metre swimming pool, separate leisure pool with flumes, a sauna, spa, jacuzzi and health club and will replace the existing outdated pool building.

HFM’s concept is for a free-form wave design with extensive glazing to the pools, cafes and restaurant to allow views out to sea and along the shoreline, minimising the impact on the existing seafront properties whilst delivering a landmark building.
