The Oracle Unit Reconfigurations, Reading

Client Hammerson

Location The Oracle, Reading

Completion Ongoing

In addition to the Mall refurbishment project at The Oracle, we have carried out many reconfiguration schemes at the centre. This is a selection of both major and minor works which continue to reflect changes in tenant mix and space requirements.

  1. Project Jenga involved major structural alterations to link an amalgamated run of units on the upper level mall to a large vacant unit on the lower level for NEXT. We also incorporated a little used public entrance and link mall to increase the tenant’s demised area.

  2. Unit U11 on the double height mall was extended by re-routing a fire escape corridor into space released by Debenhams to provide River Island with a wider shopfront.

  3. The old single height frontage to Unit L11 was redesigned with a double height portal to give L’Occitane a greater brand presence at the Broad Street entrance.

  4. Two standard width units were split at the upper level to create units for Victoria Secrets and Pink; including additional storage space at an extended mezzanine level.
